James T. Lussier

Focused on the quest for personal and organizational performance excellence, Jim has served as a health care executive, including as President/CEO and Board member of St. Charles Health System in Bend and Central Oregon.

He has provided counsel and training to hospitals and health systems in the Netherlands, Africa, Japan, Canada, and the United States. He also serves as a consultant with Transformation Systems International/The Performance Center.

Jim is active in Rotary International and was the 2013-14 Rotary District Governor for District 5110, covering the southern two-thirds of Oregon and the northern part of California with 72 Rotary Clubs overseeing service projects locally, regionally, and worldwide.

In addition to the FGI board, Jim currently serves on the boards of Volunteers of Medicine Clinic of the Cascades and City Club of Central Oregon. He is a member of the Health Guidelines Review Committee, where he has served as chair of research and development.

Jim has previously served as both member and president of the Oregon State Board of Higher Education, overseeing the seven public universities in Oregon, Sparling Corporation, and the Oregon Health Policy Commission.

As a physician, being involved with FGI and the Guidelines revision process allows me to make an impact on the design of health care facilities that will help patients and staff for the lifespan of their buildings, which may be 40 years or more.
